I cannot stop playing the song Shlaraffenland by Carmen from her sole 1982 album Puppe aus Glas. Anyway, with each listen I can't help wondering what the hell is she singing about. So I googled it.
SCHLARAFFENLAND is the German name for the medieval mythical land of milk and honey, where it rains cheese and you can do pretty much anything you want. It's also known as Cockaigne, Lubberland and Luilekkerland.
Who said obscure German 80s girl-pop can't teach you stuff?
