BLACK CANDY
Beat Happening will always be one of my all time favourites.
I don't think I've ever fully recovered from the embarrassment that was someone asking Calvin if he preferred boxers or briefs at a Q&A after he performed at a gig I went to. I don't know why but it was majorly awkward for everyone... and Calvin didn't get what boxers were so the dumb question asker was forced to try and explain what they were while everyone sat rolling their eyes.
I remember it clearly, it was years ago at Glebe Town Hall and Deerhoof and The Crayon Fields were the supports. I bought one of Calvin's famous mixtapes afterwards... it was so good! But I lost it.
So I guess I'm saying I really hate when people ask LAME questions at Q&A's and I love Beat Happening? Or something?

Ha! I was there too, do you remember someone asking him about crocodiles vs something or other? Oh, man.
It was SO bad! I just edited my post slightly... recalling how everyone sort of sat there squirming.
I remember the crocodile question... painful!
Nice time besides that though.
Also I love finding out when someone went to the same gig I went to before I knew them.
